World wine production

World production totalled 276 million hectoliters in 2000. Europe accounts for 73.1% of the total (including France 20.9), 17.8% American.  The exports cover 63 million hectoliters. The main exporters of wine are in order: Italy 27.1%; France 24%; Spain 13.8%; United States 4.6%; Australia 4.5% and Chile 4.2%.

Tourism
There is an important development of tourism in wine which allows the economic exploitation and cultural vineyards of France.

Vine and Art
The vine has been often been used in art but we found a specific use: the fig leaf.

Culture
Multiplication
seeding
cuttings, easy
layering (layering)

In the case of cultivars of Vitis vinifera and to produce wine, the vines are in most cases on a rootstock to protect them from phylloxera.  If this is not the case, one speaks of direct seedling planting, but this is only possible on sandy soils or by using the carbon disulphide (CS2 chemical formula) to kill phylloxera (very difficult to implemented)
